Inference Terms

These terms govern your use of model inference served by The Compute Index, Inc., operating as Compute Desk, when your requests reach us through OpenRouter or another aggregator (the Inference Service). By sending a request that an aggregator routes to Compute Desk, you agree to them. Your agreement with the aggregator governs your account, payment and support; these terms apply in addition.
The service
Compute Desk runs models on GPU capacity it controls and returns their output through the aggregator that sent the request. We do not develop, train or fine-tune the models we serve. Each model is published by its developer under that developer's license, and you are responsible for complying with it when you use the model's outputs. The Inference Service is a business service and is not directed to consumers or to anyone under 18. We have no billing relationship with you; the aggregator bills you at the rates it publishes.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Inference Service to generate or process content that is illegal where you or the affected person are located, including child sexual abuse material and content that infringes another person's rights; to generate malware or to plan, promote or carry out violence, fraud or harassment; to train or distill a competing model where the underlying model's license prohibits it; to circumvent rate limits or probe the security of the service; or to violate the license of any model you call. You are responsible for the content you send and for how you use the outputs you receive. Because we do not read request content, we enforce this section through metadata-based abuse detection, reports from aggregators and third parties, and legal process, and we may refuse further requests from any source that breaches it.
Your content
You own the inputs routed to us on your behalf and the outputs you receive, to the extent the model license and applicable law allow. You grant us a limited license to process them solely to generate and return your output and to monitor the service. We delete request content within 24 hours. We do not read it in the ordinary course of operating the service; an engineer inspects it only when investigating a specific fault or security incident. We do not use it to train, fine-tune or evaluate any model, do not disclose it to model developers or any other third party, and do not run content moderation on it. We retain request metadata (model, timestamp, token counts, latency, status, aggregator identifier) for settlement, security and capacity planning.
Outputs
Models generate content probabilistically. Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased or offensive, or may resemble content the model was trained on, and the same prompt may produce different outputs on different calls. You are responsible for evaluating outputs before relying on them. Outputs are not financial, investment, legal, medical, tax or other professional advice.
Changes and availability
We may add, change or remove models or endpoints, and may suspend the service for maintenance, security or operational reasons. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Service level commitments exist only between Compute Desk and an aggregator under that aggregator's provider terms or a separate written agreement.
Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Inference Service and all outputs are provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express, implied or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. Neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability to you arising out of the Inference Service will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100). You agree to indemnify Compute Desk against third-party claims arising from your content, your use of outputs, or your breach of these terms, a model license or applicable law. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts in Delaware, without depriving you of protections under the mandatory law of your place of residence. We may update these terms as the service evolves and will update the effective date above when we do. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
